This looks rad! V excited to join and watch, and hopefully get some ideas for projects with my son as well ;) I make books and music and little films (https://mounthood.substack.com/) and love seeing more handmade work in the world. Thanks for sharing!
I'm really drawn, if you'll pardon the pun, to the footage of the crayon drawing over the swan/goose. Was this an analogue or digital process? I 'd love to know what this style is called so I can go and explore some more. I'm loving your stack so far. PS I'm an artist from Australia. 😊🦘
Thanks. That goose animation was totally analog: I exported the goose video as a black and white image sequence, turned that into a contact sheet in Photoshop, printed it out, and had my son color it. Then I scanned it and sequenced the frames back into a video. Maybe I’ll do a post soon showing how it’s done.
Wow... so fresh and inspiring. Playful. Such a wonder. Such a pleasure. Such a departure from most of the stuff in my world. This is so brilliant my first impulse is "I want to do that"... and no surprise I found you through Austin Kleon's newsletter-- he's got me feeling the "Steal like an Artist" vibes. I'm going to become a paid subscriber even though as Canadians we have mostly decided to boycott America-- you are a tonic against those feelings. Just love this and what you are doing... keep going, keep playing and keep experimenting and big hug from We the North....
Hi Eric from Geneva! Saw your contribution in Suleika’s Isolationist Journal last week. This is beautiful work, so fresh, canny and uplifting! I will share profusely 👏👏👏
Very cool! I'm a writer, a high school English teacher, a former pastry chef and a lover of words and paper -- I look forward to your creations! I dabble in watercolor, collage, etc. but have a hard time not collecting beautiful paper...
Hi from Singapore! I want to figure out how you did the "Hi" at the end so I can do something similar in emails to my students to remind them about wearing their uniform. So cool and clever!
Hi Erik! This is inspiring! I’ve been brainstorming ways to use Substack for more than just writing (audio, video, art, etc), so I’m so excited to be following your super-cool multimedia studio-visit project here on Substack (which I also joined after social media burnout). Thanks for the burst of joy and inspiration!
Hi Erik! Happy to be in another one of your creative spaces! Love the idea of finding our way out of social media and the frustration of having our art and communities controlled by an algorithm! Cheers to taking your craft here! I look forward to the journey ahead! :)
Hi! I’m Laure and I’m into poetry (concrete and not), romance and singing. Things I love to explore: vulnerability, tenderness, the force of creativity and love.
Ahh I love your animation style how fun! Excited to see and read more. I write on creativity and creative process and mostly work with performers, writers, filmmakers and some creative outliers.
Hey, this is Hi. My name is Anja. I've been a graphic designer for many years and I am all about forms and colors and tone. Trained at Bauhaus University in the late nineties. I am focusing on universalist curative design approach, output mainly in printed matters and on museum walls. Quite passionate about creating one hour long playlist voyages, too. Thanks for sharing and caring. 🌸
Hi Anja, welcome! What a fascinating background. I wasn’t even aware Bauhaus University was still in operation. That must have been an incredible experience. So much of my favorite artwork came out of the Bauhaus movement.
Thank you, Erik. Yes, of course, there still is a university where Bauhaus was founded in Weimar ... It's focusing on art, design and architecture ... Yes, the Bauhaus movement honed or inspires my work a lot, too.

Suleika brought me to you. I’m A Papercrafter card maker Rubberstamper in New Haven CT.
Tim Holtz is my rabbit hole. I watched him page through over 100 two sided papers and then bought them.
At first glance I’m going to love your posts and work and hopefully make a few little books and some new cards too.
Glad to meet you!

Hi, I’m David. I’m trying to get back into drawing. I used to love drawing as a child and started drawing again to make my inner child happy.

Hi Justine, nice to meet you!
